Step 1
-- Getting a Passageway in
the Computer
New Computers
If you are purchasing a new computer and wish
to have the InnerLock™ passageway installed
during the assembly, there are two options. First,
you can order your computer through one of our
affiliates with the InnerLock™ passageway
pre-installed. Alternatively, if you'd rather order your computer
from someone else, you can also order a modified
case from our affiliate, and have it sent to your
computer assembler. In either case, your computer
will come from the factory with an Innerlock™
passageway pre-installed.

Retrofitting
Existing Computers
If you wish to protect an existing computer,
and do not wish to pay for a service-call to your
site (or live in an area that is not serviced),
your options are more limited, but you can still
get it done. Assuming your computer and case
qualify for modification (primarily it must have
an extra 5.25" drive bay), you may send us
either the empty case, or the entire computer, and
we will modify it for you and ship it back. You
may contact us for details.
Modification
Cost: $30 for an empty case,
$50 for an
assembled computer,
plus shipping charges both
ways
Note: the InnerLock™
passageway will not compromise the
functionality or ventilation of your computer in
any way, and is removable in the event that you
wish to use the drive bay for a standard
installation.

Step
3 --
Self-Installation
There are three installation methods, the first
three of which are very simple to do, and do not
require any special tooling..
Method 1 -- Adhesive Mount
The bracket comes with a special adhesive tape
that allows it to be mounted on any reasonably
flat surface. It is a simple peel-and-stick
application, and takes just a few minutes. This is
a high quality product, and should be considered a
PERMANENT mount.
Method 2 -- Screw or Bolt Mount
The bracket comes with mounting holes that
allow it to be screwed or bolted to many surfaces,
including desks, file cabinets, and other vertical
surfaces. Small holes must be drilled into the
mounting surface for this installation method,
however, this is a non-permanent mounting option.
Method 3 -- Adhesive and Screw Combination
The bracket is designed to accommodate either
an adhesive mount, a screw/bolt mount, or a
combination of both those mounting methods. This
should be considered a PERMANENT mount. For those
of you who just don't believe the adhesive tape is
strong enough, we don't think you have to worry,
but you can be doubly sure by using
screws or bolts in addition to the adhesive.
Method 4 -- Bracketless Mount
In some situations, it is possible to lock the
computer to a desk or vertical wall without the
use of a bracket. In most cases, this requires an
independent wall with access to both sides, and
the ability to drill a large hole (minimum one
inch diameter) completely through the wall. If you
are willing to drill the hole, and you have the
proper equipment (specifically, a large drill bit
for the surface you are drilling through), this is
an excellent mounting option.
It's
Easy to Install!
Believe
us when we say that installing the bracket is very
easy, and with the adhesive pad, there are NO
TOOLS REQUIRED! While the other mounting options
require some hole drilling, there's nothing
complicated or difficult about it. The Bracketless
Mount option is the only one that can be a bit
tricky, but that's only because it requires a
large hole to be drilled, and drill bits of that
size are sometimes more difficult to find. In general, it's very easy to
install the bracket and of course, to use the
lock. |
